Requirement and Essentials to Travel to Rwanda

Visa Requirements to travel to Rwanda
Citizens of country members to the African Union, Commonwealth and La Francophonie can get free visas upon arrival in Rwanda for a visit of 30 days.
A citizen of East African Community Member States can receive a pass/entry visa free of charge upon arrival for a six-month stay in Rwanda.
Visitors from the following countries can be granted 90-day visas at no cost upon arrival in Rwanda: Angola, Benin, Central African Republic, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, The Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis, Ghana, Guinea, Indonesia, Haiti, Mauritius, Philippines, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Sao Tome and Principe, Singapore and the State of Qatar.
Citizens of countries that are not visa exempt have an option of applying online or at the Rwanda Diplomatic Mission of the country of residence before departure. Those applying online have the option to pay online or upon arrival.
There is no single affiliated agent that is authorised to apply for a visa on your behalf. Such Agents may mislead you and charge more than the visa fees.
Visitors visa
This type of visa is issued to a person who is a national or a resident of a country with which Rwanda has a visa waiver arrangement including African Union, CommonWealth and La francophonie who enters the country for any valid reason other than employment.

- Any genuine acceptable travel document valid not less than 6 months
- Single entry
- Work is not permitted
- Change of status is allowed
- It is Free of charge
Renewal of visa
A grace period of 5 days after a visa has expired is allowed for a person to either depart or renew their visa without a penalty; otherwise the person will be subjected to a penalty and a visa extension may be denied.
Health Requirements to travel to Rwanda
A Yellow Fever Vaccination:To travel to Rwanda a yellow fever vaccination certificate may be required;you should be vaccinated 10 days before travelling.
Covid-19:1. Covid-19 testing is no longer a requirement prior to boarding the flight to Rwanda. However, regular Covid-19 testing is encouraged.
Essential Requirements
1. Financial Requirements
An applicant must have sufficient funds to cover the costs of their stay in Rwanda. Evidence for such funds may be requested online, at the Rwandan foreign mission or at the entry point.
2. Health Precautions
Consider any necessary health precautions and carry essential medications.
3. Electrical Adapters
Rwanda uses the British-style Type G electrical outlets, so bring suitable adapters for your electronic devices.
4. Travel Documents
Keep a printed or digital copy of your itinerary, accommodation reservations, and important contact numbers.
5. Sunscreen and Mosquito Repellent
Rwanda is located in a malaria- endemic region so it is advisable to have a mosquito repellent to protect yourself from the sun and insects, especially if you’ll be outdoors. This can be bought locally.
6. Travel Insurance
It is advisable to have comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and other unforeseen events.
7. Local SIM Card
If staying for an extended period, consider getting a local SIM card for better communication.
8. Appropriate Clothing
Pack clothing suitable for the weather and any specific activities you plan to undertake.When visiting Rwanda consider packing a mix of lightweight and layered clothing,as the climate may vary.
